Newest Arrival for Kent County Vietnam Memorial
Welcome to the newest arrival for the Kent County Vietnam Memorial. Our Huey was delivered via truck from Florida on Nov. 18, and is currently in a local facility where we will restore her to her former beauty. Acquiring this beloved aircraft took more than two years but it was worth every minute.
We appreciate that it was used for air evacuations because the lifesaving role is what our fellow Vietnam veterans hold closest to their hearts.
We expect it to be in place at the memorial park and dedicated on Memorial Day 2014. A number of people have asked if we are accepting donations to help in its restoration. We anticipate the restoration will cost about $10,000, which will include placing it at the memorial in an elevated position that will simulate a close support landing.
We appreciate any and all donations and will provide an official certificate of involvement in this historic event. We will also keep a record of our donors for inclusion in our archives.
Checks may be drawn to: VVA Chap. 850, C/O Paul Davis, 5233 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Write “Huey” in the memo section of the check.

Students from North Dover Elementary School next to the memorial park prepare to lead the assembled crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.
